PE Coated Paper Overview
PE coated paper consists of a paper or board substrate extrusion-coated with a thin layer of polyethylene (PE) on one or both sides. The PE layer creates a moisture-proof, grease-resistant, and heat-sealable barrier — making it the standard material for paper cups, cold-drink cups, ice-cream tubs, and takeaway containers. Available with single-side PE coating (1PE) for general moisture protection or double-side coating (2PE) for full liquid containment. PE grammage ranges from 12 gsm to 30 gsm depending on barrier requirements.
